Collagen VII-laminin-332 binding in EGFR activation

Collagen VII-laminin-332

Laminin-332 contains a collagen VII binding site on domain III-V of its β3 chain and an EGFR binding site on domain III of its γ2 chain. Binding with collagen VII may remove steric hindrance of EGFR with the γ2 chain domain III and allow activation. The collagen VII-laminin-332 binding sites may thus represent a novel carcinoma target.
